Complete High Performance Home Theater Audio Solution. The HT Express Pro is the perfect combination of performance and price, matching the best speaker systems from Orb with your choice of very highly rated Denon and Yamaha home theater receivers, Blu-Ray and DVD players. We've thought of it all. Just customize the system to meet your preferences and you are on your way to the highest performance home theater at the best price.
The Orb direct business model is a very big advantage and you have before you the same systems that have been getting rave reviews and are routinely ranked above packages from our competitors in the $3,000+ range. Add 100 ft of speaker wire and a 12 foot subwoofer cable to any package for only $34!
Speaker Choices The system can be configured with any Orb speaker system and any receiver we sell. We recommend the People's Choice system for medium rooms and the Mod2 system for large rooms. You can customize your speaker package by using the drop-down menus above to select 5, 6 or 7 speakers and to select between Mod1 and Mod2 speakers.
We recommend Mod2 speakers for your front speakers if you have a medium or large room or if you will be using the system for both music and movies. Choose Mod2 for your rear speakers if you have a larger room, prefer to listen at loud volumes or simply want the ultimate home theater experience. Add a 7th surround channel if you have a large room, will be placing the rear speakers very high or far away from the listening position, or if you will be using the system for Blu-Ray discs (which have 7.1 encoding). If you have any questions about home theater speaker placement, check out this link give us a call at 877-ORB-AUDIO, or send us an email at support@orbaudio.com.

No matter what speaker package you choose, you can expect the richest, fullest sound from our small, attractive satellite speakers and our custom Super Eight and Uber Ten subwoofers. Our Mod1 and Mod2 satellites are constructed with a custom-designed, elite quality, full-range 3" driver, set in our exclusive 4 3/16" steel sphere enclosures. They are handcrafted in the USA and produce fantastic imaging and detailed, accurate audio reproduction.
Together, the satellite speakers and Orb subwoofers produce an unbeatable listening experience that your ears and eyes will simply not believe. They are comparable in output to floorstanding speakers and will blow your mind without blowing your budget. By selling web-direct, we can use higher quality components than other companies and sell our speakers for half the cost or less. There really is no beating this business model, since your money is going into top quality components and craftsmanship, not middlemen and extensive ad campaigns. Forget the $3,000+ systems out there -- this one is better and will make you happier.
The Mod1 and Mod2 satellite speakers in the HT Express Pro are available in Metallic Black Gloss and Pearl White Gloss. Our beautiful, labor intensive Hand Polished Steel, Hand Antiqued Copper and Hand Antiqued Bronze finishes are available for an additional $30 per Orb.

The HT Express Pro is protected by our 30 Day Satisfaction Return Policy, so you can buy with confidence. Additionally, the Mod1 and Mod2 satellites and Super Eight subwoofer are covered by the Orb Five Year/One Year Warranty and the Pioneer/Yamaha/Denon electronics are covered by a one year warranty through the manufacturer. Full details are available in the links in the navigation bar to the left.
Subwoofers You can configure your system with either of our custom designed audiophile subwoofers, the 200 watt Super Eight and the 300 watt Uber Ten. Both subwoofers offer best in class performance and provide deep, accurate bass that will satisfy the most discerning listener. Like all Orb Audio products, our direct business model allows us to provide more for your money than almost any other brand, and both of these subwoofers outperform similar models that cost twice as much in stores. Forget the muddy, boomy bass that plagues many systems...these subs are clean, deep and accurate and are great for both music and movies.
The Super Eight is acoustically matched to our Mod1 and Mod2 satellites and is included in all of our speaker systems. It is the right subwoofer for almost all of our customers, the perfect combination of performance, size and price. In fact, the Super Eight offers the highest possible performance out of a 12 inch cube and has received many rave reviews. It features a high quality 200 watt BASH hybrid amplifier that is conservatively rated to peak at over 400 watts, a super long-throw 8" woofer and a high-power magnet. The Super Eight provides output that is on par with most high quality subwoofers that have much larger cabinets and drivers, and it retains the musicality and tightness that is essential to success (yet lacking in many other systems).
The Uber Ten is our answer to your requests over the last few years for a "cost is no object" design. Of course, cost is always important, and we did not ignore it. However, our primary design criteria was high performance, and the Uber Ten will blow your socks off. It features a 300W BASH hybrid amplifier, a proprietary high-excursion 10" driver and it packs all of the punch of much bigger subwoofers. We made the cabinet 1 1/2 inches larger (12" on the Super Eight v. 13.5" on the Uber Ten) for maximum performance while still preserving the compact nature of all Orb products. Anyone can make a deep, high power subwoofer that is great at explosions and not much else, but that just didn't cut it for us. We weren't looking for a sub that was just louder and deeper, we also wanted it to retain the musicality, snappiness and accuracy that made the Super Eight famous. To accomplish this, you basically need world class, audiophile components, and we designed every piece of the Uber Ten in this manner.
To be clear, though, the Super Eight is the right subwoofer for at least 90% of our customers. The Uber Ten is purely for those that have the extra budget and desire for bass beyond what is considered normal to most people. If you have an especially large room, or just prefer your bass to be as deep as possible and don't mind the extra 1.5" of cabinet space, consider the Uber Ten. Otherwise, put it out of your mind and go with our first love, the Super Eight.
2009 Denon and Yamaha Receivers We are proud to announce the availability of the best and most popular receivers from Denon and Yamaha. If you want to add high performance HDMI to your system, we have covered a wide spectrum of choices with varying prices and features.
Yamaha Receivers -- HDMI 1.3a, Dolby TrueHD, 2 Subwoofer Outputs, 1080p Upconversion The HT Express Pro can be configured with any of the brand new 2009 Yamaha receivers. The least expensive choice, the RX-V365, is a very basic, entry level receiver. It is limited to 5 speakers (no 6.1 or 7.1 possible) and the HDMI support is very rudimentary (no audio support via HDMI, audio requires a digital audio cable). The good news is that it sounds great, so if you are on a tight budget and can live without advanced HDMI features, this receiver will do the job quite well.
The RX-V465, 565 and 665 are in the "sweet spot" for most people.
Yamaha RX-V465 The RX-V465 is our recommended entry level receiver because it includes several useful and important features in comparison to the more barebonesRX-V365. It is still limited to support for 5 speakers, so you cannot expand this receiver to 6.1 or 7.1. It is still a great entry level receiver, however, and in comparison to the RX-V365, the RX-V465 adds:
-
2 more HDMI inputs (for a total of 4)
-
HDMI audio support
-
an auto setup program with microphone
-
support for Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master Audio, the latest surround sound techniques
Yamaha RX-V565 and RX-V665 The RX-V565 and RX-V665 are our recommended receivers for most people. In comparison to the RX-V465, both the RX-V565 and RX-V665 add:
-
Increased power output
-
Support for up to 7 speakers (so you can do 6.1 and 7.1 surround)
-
Analog to HDMI 1080p video upconversion (which will take any analog video connection, like component video, s-video and composite video, and upconvert the signal to 1080p via HDMI. This means you can connect older or non-HDMI video components to the receiver and the receiver will distill them all down to a single 1080p signal that runs to your TV via HDMI cable. This feature was only found on $1,000+ receivers as little as two years ago. It's a great feature if you have any video components that do not have HDMI connections.
For an additional $70, the RX-V665 also adds:
Yamaha RX-V765 The RX-V765 adds an improved amplifier section with higher output and discrete amplification for each channel of sound. Basically, it borrows some amplification cues from the much more expensive Yamaha receivers, while retaining the mid-level feature set found in this price rage. For comparison, it weighs 5 1/2 pounds more than the RX-V665 and all of this weight is dedicated to the amplification/power supply section).

RX-V1900 and RX-V3900 We also feature the acclaimed Yamaha RX-V1900 and RX-V3900 receivers, which have 4 HDMI inputs, Neural THX surround and 3 powered audio zones. If you want to connect a lot of HDMI components, or if you want to control more than 2 zones of music, these are great receivers. They also feature the best amplification quality in the Yamaha line.
No matter which model you select, all of these receivers feature high power and state of the art features including HDMI 1.3a.

Denon Receivers The HT Express can also be configured with two of the best home theater receivers on the market today, the Denon AVR-890 and AVR-990. The AVR-890 dishes out intense home theater performance and has five high performance 1080p compatible HDMI inputs. It features video switching and conversion to HDMI from ALL video sources (this means you only have to run one HDMI cable from the receiver to the TV). It also features advanced surround processing and has a fast automatic setup program that calibrates the system to your room using an included microphone.

Both the AVR-890 and AVR-990 are quite fully-featured, and offer great sound and today's latest and greatest options. While both models are HDMI 1.3a compatible (deep color), the 990 adds the latest Dolby uncompressed 7.1 decoder, as well as network compatibility, Zone 2 video and additional features.
Both models have:
- 1080p compatible HDMI 1.3a (5 HDMI inputs)
- Auto setup and room calibration
- Video conversion to HDMI from component, S-video and composite
- Multi-source/multi-zone (listen to 2 different things in 2 different rooms)
- Audio delay for perfect lip-sync between audio and video
- XM & Sirius Radio Ready (Connect and Play antenna sold separately)
- Ipod Ready (Adapter sold separately)
The AVR-990 adds:
-
Computer network A/V streaming
-
Internet radio and MP3/WMA decoding
-
PC setup and control capability (setup receiver from computer)
-
Remote maintenance from Denon support
-
Dynamic Discrete Surround Circuit - Digital HD
-
Denon's elite AL24 Processing for front left and right speakers
-
Digital to analog conversion for multi-zone outputs
-
3 x 100mhz component video inputs
-
Zone 2 video support
-
Additional digital audio inputs
-
USB flash drive port
-
Rhapsody support
-
2 x 12v trigger outputs (assignable)
-
Advanced multi-zone preamp outputs including selectable output levels
Both Denon receivers are excellent, you can't really go wrong.
