Mounting your speakers on the wall does not have to be confusing or difficult. The guidelines below will help you decide which Orb mounts are right for you. |

Generally, all speakers sound best if you put the front speakers as close to ear level as possible when seated in the listening position. For most people, this is about 3 1/2 - 4 feet from the ground. Our speakers have a very wide sweet spot, however, and if you need to place them higher, or on the ceiling, they will still sound good. Rear speakers can generally be placed higher or on the ceiling without too much concern.
In a 5.1 system, generally you have left, center and right front speakers, and 2 rear speakers located at the side of the room, firing across the back of the room. For 6.1, you add a center speaker on or near the back wall, and for 7.1, you add 2 rear speakers on or near the back wall. If you cannot put your speakers on the side of the room in a 5.1 setup, you can also put them on the back wall and use our MultiMount to fire them somewhat across the room rather than forward.

- Front Speakers: If mounting your front speakers, try to use the Stud Zero and mount them 3-4 feet from the ground (or below the TV and on either side). Use the Stud 30 if mounting higher than 6 feet and use the MultiMount if you require adjustability. Try to keep the height of your front 3 speakers within 18" of so of each other, so that when sound travels left to right it is also not traveling up and down.
- Rear Speakers: If mounting your rear speakers in a 5.1 setup, try mounting them 4-5 feet from the ground on the side walls, firing across the main listening position. Use the Stud 30 or MultiMount if mounting higher. For 6.1 and 7.1, add one or two speakers to the rear wall, at the same height. Do not be afraid to mount your rear speakers higher than the front ones if that makes sense for your room layout.

- Can I put speakers in the 4 corners of the room? Yes, you can. This will still sound OK. Use our MultiMounts for adjustability. Most speakers will lose a little breadth of soundstage when placed up high in the corners, but the Orbs actually sound quite good because they have a very big sweet spot. Try to mount them at ear level as a first choice, but if not, don't sweat it.
- Do the Orbs work with other wall mounts? Yes, they do. The Mod1 and Mod2 have a 1/4" threaded insert that is one of the standards in the industry. Certain mounts from OmniMount, Panavise and Btech (and many other manufacturers) fit our speakers as well.

Stud Thirty Wall Mount - Our Stud series of wall mounts are designed to be the easiest wall mounts to install and use on the market. The Stud Thirty wall mount is compatible with our Mod1 and Mod2 speakers (both the Mod1 and Mod2 require only one mount per speaker). They mount each speaker at a 30 degree angle from the wall, and are typically used when you are mounting your speakers above ear level. The Stud Thirty installs in minutes. The Stud Thirty is not adjustable, since it is designed to be a cost-effective alternative to expensive adjustable mounts on the market. We designed this mount for people with basic needs who previously had to turn to these third party mounts that cost $60-$100 per pair or more because of features they did not need. Our price is $12.50 each (you do not have to buy them in pairs). For those with different needs, the Stud Zero wall mount is available to mount your speakers straight off your wall, at no angle. Additionally, if you do have a more complex installation or need for adjustability, our speakers all feature a standard 1/4"-20 threaded insert that works with many commercially available mounts. HOSS Floor Stands (pair) - HOSS (Hunk Of Solid Steel) floor stands are the ultimate complement to our Mod1 and Mod2 satellites. Seductively stylish, they are sure to look great in any room. HOSS stands are a stunning combination of stainless and carbon steel sourced from American mills. The base is a four inch diameter, three inch tall section of solid steel, while the satellite support poles and all of the bracket parts are pure hand polished stainless. The base is much smaller than stands with cheap, flat bases and can be placed in corners and other hard to reach spots. Each pair of stands contains nearly twenty-five pounds of steel, all of which is cut, polished and assembled by hand in the USA.
