Purchased this pair of Mod 1 speakers exclusively for use as surrounds, so I really can't speak to their performance as full range speakers. As surrounds, they work very well. They are small, unimposing, and appear to be well made. Connections were simple, and they fit well on the generic speaker stands that I purchased.

I've owned original Orb speakers for about 10 years. I was looking to upgrade my home theater system this year to add Atmos height speakers and better surround speakers. I ordered 4 Orb speakers and am loving the upgrade. My TV is in my living room so I didn't want large boxed speakers hanging on the walls. Orbs fit perfectly and blend into the room better while still delivering great surround sound. I did have an issue with 1 of the 4 speakers, but Orb was quick to send a replacement. Great customer service as always.

Ordered the Mod 1 Quick Pack for some rear surrounds for my HT set up in my smaller room. The size is perfect for what I needed and they just blend right in with the white ceiling and moldings. Oh, and they sound great. I hooked them up as my mains out of curiosity and they sounded great. Build quality on this is simply amazing.

I purchase this set of surround speakers with double fronts and Left & right, although they do not sound as good as my old paradigms there pretty damn close, after tweaking the sound on Denon Equalizer I got them to sound really good on surround sound television programming and pretty good for MUSIC...

Great sound! This is our 2nd set-up with Orb. We use Orb speakers in another set-up and they continue to sound great, so that's why we went with Orb again.

These are neat little speakers, and fairly transparent. I'm using them in my office with an SVS subwoofer. While they sound okay, I wouldn't push them into any sort of serious listening duty or home theater usage. Perhaps the larger Orb speakers could work in that capacity, but I'm not sure. My main system is Magnepan .7's, Revel 126be's, SVS SB3000 subs, NuPrime IDA 16 amp and Rega P3 turntable along with CD rebook player and Node 2i streaming MAQ files from Tidal. As a long-time audiophile, I have fairly balanced expectations and these little Orbs are fine. I'd buy them again, but again, not for any kind of serious listening. I might have tried a full system, but since the HOSS stands were not available I spent my money elsewhere. Oh well.

Perfect little spekaers! It looks amazing! And it sounds spectacular! My new tenant signed the lease immediately after seeing the room. And being a former music musician, he’s very happy with set up. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take any proper photos before he moved all of his stuff inside and took immediate possession of the apartment. I checked the settings on the speakers and subwoofer and it turned out I had already set everything up perfectly. Can’t remember if I did that manually or if the machine took care of it for me, but either way it sounds perfect. I covered a lot of the wall surfaces with absorption panels which both look great and make the room sound like a home theater. Your speakers are a gift to mankind! Fantastic sound quality coupled with just what you need and nothing more! We have spent some time together in the apartment with the music up loud, and the speakers sound very clean, so I’m not worried about him feeding too much power, because it sounds like they are capable of handling it.

Great for RV - I own a motor home and was looking to improve the sound quality of my system. Most RV manufacturers not only use small, low-grade speakers but they also place them in strange places like the ceiling where you get no real stereo separation. You can upgrade the ceiling speakers, but that doesn't improve stereo imaging. The challenge in improving the sound is figuring out how to install speakers in the "right" location. The Orbs do a great job of addressing this problem. I was able to mount 2 speakers to the underside of upper cabinets by drilling a single hole in the center of the bases and using a single screw to secure the speakers. You can bend the support from the base to aim the speaker up or down and rotate the speakers left or right to get the proper sound dispersion. The Orbs lack low-end/bass so unless you have some 6x9's mounted someplace close, you are going to need a sub-woofer. I installed a 125 watt car sub-woofer in a cabinet and it made a huge improvement in the sound. The Orbs are 8-ohm speakers so they need a bit of power to drive them. Most 12-volt car/RV systems are limited in output without a separate amp. But I found 20 watts a channel worked fine as long as you are not trying to create arena-level volume. The Orbs also lack some of the "crispness" you get from a dedicated tweeter. You hear it most on things like cymbal crashes and snare drums. But after playing with the tone controls and faders to blend in the factory speakers I found I was able to compensate for the lack of a tweeter. The Orbs on their own are really pretty remarkable. They provide a very smooth sound spectrum. Voices are particularly easy to hear whether it's vocals or movie dialog. The small, contemporary size works great in an RV and, although they may seem a bit expensive for some buyers, I wasn't able to find many alternatives. For that reason I give them 5 stars.

Overall, I like these speakers. I used the WHITE ones as a center channel. I used the Orb Audio MOD2 Horizontal Speaker Stand that is sold on the Orb Audio Website. These speakers are great

Speakers sound great! They are my desktop speakers driven by a tube amp and paired with a Corsair subwoofer/foot prop. Small size gives me more desk space. They match my steampunk/ratrod lamp perfectly. I was expecting brushed aluminum or stainless and it looks like that is what it is... although it appears to have a coat of lacquer over it. Not quite as heavy as I was expecting, but not too light either. They came with speaker stands, - screws were hidden within the packaging and I thought were left out until I went digging in the foam and found them loose. A wiring cheat sheet was included, but no real spec sheet or instructions on how to use the stand and no company information.

Wonderfully inconsipicuous, good sound in the mid and high frequencies. Love the small size making the speakers nearly disappear from sight. Decent speakers for mid and high frequencies as expected. Used a subwoofer to fill in the lows.

I needed something small, powerful, and with a high SAF (spouse approval factor). The Orb Mod1/2 are the best small speaker on the market that meet these criteria, in my humble opinion. They have excellent range for their size, incredible clarity and imaging. The trait that stands out the most for me is their dispersion capability. The shape and unique metal enclosure allow a very large sound stage with excellent room penetration. I use them as rear surrounds and they add a level of dimension and depth that larger, more expensive speakers cannot touch. My only caveat: if you are planning on implementing them as your L/C/R, I would recommend adding a subwoofer, as these little guys can only (and reasonably) dip into mid 100Hz range with any authority. If you are searching for a small, unique, high-quality speaker with excellent versatility, look no further. Just budget for some bass if you haven't already.

I wanted to update my old stereo system purchased in 1998, but didn't have a lot of money to spend. Also, I have a small living room and didn't want the speakers to overwhelm the space. After doing some research, I decided to purchase a couple of Orb Audio Mod1's. I'm old school when it comes to HIFI: give me a simple setup with 2 speakers (Orb Audio Mod1), a stereo receiver (Onkyo TX-8020), a cd player (Onkyo C-7030) and a powered subwoofer (BIC America F12) all for less than $900.00! I couldn't be more pleased. I listen to Jazz, Blues, Classical and Rock. These little speakers really shine! The clarity and depth of sound to my ears is amazing. Highly recommended!

I just received my first Pearl White Orb MOD1 speaker which I purchased directly from Orb who ships from less than 100 miles away. Amazon doesn't sell the single pack and I couldn't afford the twin pack plus I wanted to speak in person first and make sure the finish matched my new Boston Acoustics Soundware Pearl White 4.1 system and it does. After the last two days of testing I've found they have a very complimentary look, size and sound. I believe with Orb's quality craftsmanship and great sound. I've been a musician for 50 years and am disabled now so I don't want or need all that extra weight but won't compromise on sound and with Orb I don't have to. For now Orb has a new and very happy customer. Thank you or Mahalo Orb for meeting my size, look, price and especially SOUND requirements.

Unbelievable Sound! I purchased these Orb speakers to replace my JBL tower speakers because we are refurnishing our living room and the old speakers were just too big and overpowering with the rest of the decor. I was skeptical about how these little speakers would sound but was quite pleasantly surprised by the huge sound. They are amazing!
